Reserve Program

The Fire Reserves are utilized for augmenting staffing of the truck and engine above the daily minimums. Reserves are scheduled for work on a weekly basis and may be utilized for major emergencies. Minimum requirements include: High School Graduation or GED; Approved Fire Academy completion; Class C drivers license; EMT 1 certification; CPR certification - Hiring Process includes: The hiring process is identical to the process for regular firefighters which include: Background investigation; Medical examination; Psychological examination; DMV and criminal history; Oral board interviews - Being a reserve is a valuable entry into the firefighter profession and provides an extremely valuable resource to the Fire Department.
