Free Wireless Internet Access
Valid cardholders have FREE wireless Internet access in the Upland Public Library. Getting online is quick and simple. All you need is a wireless-enabled mobile device and your Upland Public Library card.
Username: your 14-digit UPL card number
Password: last 4 digits of your registered phone number
You are responsible for setting up your own equipment; staff may not be available to assist you with setting up wireless on your computer. Wireless users are subject to the terms outlined in the Internet Use Policy.
Limitations and Disclaimers:
The City's wireless network is not secure. Information sent from or to your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software, within three hundred feet.
Library employees may not be able to provide detailed technical assistance, and no guarantee can be provided that you will be able to make a wireless connection.
The City assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment or for laptop configurations, security, or data files resulting from connections to the Library's network.
Public Computers with Internet Access
The Library has Internet-enabled workstations with automated sign-up for public use! You need a valid Upland Public Library card to log onto the computers.They also have a variety of software programs installed, such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel. Only cardholders aged 17 years old and younger may use the Internet computers in Youth Services on the upper floor. You may use these FREE Internet computers for one hour per day. For minors to obtain Internet access, a parent must accompany the child to the Circulation Desk and sign the Internet Registration Agreement (pdf).
Black-and-white prints cost $0.15 per single-sided page; color prints cost $0.75 per single-sided page.
Word Processing Computers
The Library offers the use of word processing computers free of charge. They are located in the Student Center (lower floor) and in Youth Services (upper floor). These Windows XP computers are loaded with Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel. Some also have a typing improvement program if you need to get up to speed. Printing fees are $0.15 per black-and-white printout and $0.75 per color printout.

Online Database Computers
Two computers are available exclusively for searching databases to which the Library subscribes. Need tax forms? The California Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service web sites can also be accessed through these computers.

The Upland Public Library has self-service photocopiers on each floor. Please bring dollar bills or coins in US currency. Black-and-white copies are $0.15 per single-sided page; color copies are $0.75 per single-sided page. Vendor cards ($0 value) are also available at the Reference and Children's Desks for $0.50 per card; value must be added at the card readers. The Self Check-Out Stations for books are located next to the Kids PCs upstairs and next to the Richards Student Center downstairs. You may check out your own books without waiting in line at the Circulation Desk. A receipt will be printed for all the items you check out. Library cards must be in good standing; you can update your account at the Circulation Desk.
