Quality of Life Team
Quality of Life Team
The Upland Police Department's Quality-of-Life Team is a multi-faceted effort that tackles many different issues citywide with the goal to keep our city safe and beautiful.
The Quality-of-Life Team includes people who work in Code Enforcement; the Impact Team which focuses on the homeless population; Park Rangers; Homeless Services; and Crime Prevention.
The team recently welcomed a new Crime Prevention-Community Outreach Specialist who is expanding the Upland Police Department's community outreach programs which include Business Watch, Neighborhood Watch, National Night Out, Citizens Police Academy, and Open House. These programs are critical to the community by helping to keep people updated on recent crime trends and sharing with the community ways the public can report criminal and suspicious activity. If you are interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch in your residential community or a Business Watch for your business complex, please contact Behrse at sbehrse@uplandpd.org.
Also new to the Quality-of-Life Team are our two Code Enforcement Officers. They maintain contact with property owners on the city's southwest side in an effort to resolve violations like graffiti, litter, weeds, and other municipal code violations. The Code Enforcement Officers are part of the Upland team working to solve complex community issues.
The City's Homeless Services Coordinator, Jonathan Ingles, has been working hard to find placements for individuals dealing with home-lessness. Ingles has established relationships with various organizations and has tapped into resources throughout San Bernardino County including non-profits, public organizations, and substance abuse facilities.
