Upland Recreation and Community Services hosts a number of Spring Special Events & Activities, bringing the community together for exciting, fun-filled experiences for the whole family.

2025-2026 VolunTeen Program

Ages:  14-18 Years
$30 Per VolunTeen

Teens, are you looking to broaden your horizons, gain valuable work experience, fulfill community service requirements, increase self-confidence, and assist Upland Recreation and Community Services staff with summer programs, special events, and activities throughout the City of Upland? Consider joining the City of Upland’s 2025-2026 VolunTeen Program! The Program is a year-round program available for teens, 14-18 years of age. ⁠

3rd Annual EGG-streme Egg Hunt For Adults

Saturday, April 12

We're so "egg-cited" and we just can't hide it!  It's time for our 3rd Annual Egg-streme Egg Hunt For Adults!  Bring your friends and family and enjoy a night of excitement!  Starting at 6:00 p.m., indulge in tasty treats from on-site vendors, enjoy a cold beer from the beer garden hosted by Upland Rotary, and groove to upbeat tunes.  Get in on the fun with competitive games and capture memories with the Upland Recreation and Community Services bunny!  At 8:00 p.m., the egg hunt begins!  Bring a flashlight, bag, or basket and get ready to hunt in the dark for your chance to win "egg-cellent" prizes.  Find eggs filled with candy, raffle tickets, and "Instant Win" prizes donated by local businesses.  You won't want to miss this "egg-citing" adventure!  Be sure to recycle your plastic eggs on site for a chance to win additional prizes!  To register, please visit 3rd Annual Egg-streme Egg Hunt For Adults.

Spring Egg Scramble For Kids

Enjoy egg hunts, crafts, games, activities, bounce houses, on-site food vendors, and photo opportunities with the Recreation bunny. Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration

Let's come together to make a difference!  Join us for a fun and educational event featuring informative booths, eco-friendly crafts & games, E-waste recycling, paper shredding, and bulky item disposal.    Free compost & mulch give-a-way for Upland residents only, while supplies last.  Please bring shovel and container for transport.  No plastic bags allowed.  Bulky-item disposal accepted items:  appliances, metal, bulky items (sofas, mattresses, furniture, etc.), and paper.  Non-accepted items:  tires, loose or hard-to-handle material, hazardous waste material, dirt, rock, concrete, or construction waste.

Butterflies In May

Butterflies In May is an enriching and interactive educational experience for children combining science and creativity.  The hands-on activity provides a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about the fascinating life cycle of butterflies. By watching the caterpillars grow, transform, and emerge as butterflies, children can gain a deeper appreciation for nature's wonders and a firsthand understanding of metamorphosis.  Each child will be provided with a caterpillar home to decorate on site, a live caterpillar, and activities to complete at home throughout the transformation process. "Kids In The Kitchen" is a hands-on, exciting cooking event where kids will get to make their own delicious dinner while learning basic cooking skills and safety tips in the kitchen.  From fun food prep to tasty creations, the evening promises an adventure in cooking!
