Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Historic Downtown Upland Gazebo
Kick off the holiday season with the City of Upland's annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Bundle up and take a beautiful stroll in Historic Downtown Upland, shop at our local businesses, listen to holiday music, enjoy free cookies & hot cocoa, holiday themed crafts, take a photo with Santa, and watch the beautiful tree light up downtown! Celebrate the beginning of the season by making holiday memories at this family-friendly event.
Celebrate the season of giving by bringing an unwrapped gift to help the Upland Police Department "Stuff The BearCat" with toys for children in need in our community.

Jingle bells, jingle tails! Join us in spreading “howl-iday” cheer and making this festive season unforgettable for you and your furry family members. Capture the morning with a photo with Santa Paws, create a pawprint ornament, enjoy a sweet treat from Santa Paws and his elves, and enjoy time at our newly renovated Baldy View Dog Park.
We kindly suggest a pet-friendly donation. Your generosity will make a difference and help us spread “howl-iday” cheer to those residing at Upland Animal Services during the holidays.

Let's Light Up Upland With Holiday Spirit! Upland residents are invited to enter the Home For The Holidays Home Decorating Contest and get into the holiday spirit!

Fan Favorite
Homeowners may register or be nominated. Judging will be based on curb appeal only for exterior decorations, including decorations that are visible outside. Winners will receive a “Home For The Holidays” theme inspired yard sign created by The Sawdust Factory’s holiday helpers. The “Fan Favorite” will receive a special holiday prize. The "Fan Favorite" will be voted on Monday, December 16, 12:00 p.m. through Thursday, December 19, 4:00 p.m. Be creative! Be festive! Have Fun! Judging dates will be announced.

*Pet live Reindeer, and enjoy a Holiday Train Ride, Pony Rides, Bounce Houses, games, holiday crafts, face painting, and more. Some activities offered for a nominal fee.

Expanded Food Vendors
*Dine at one of the many local restaurants or enjoy a treat at the many food vendors featuring a variety of international delights.
Holiday Craft Boutique
*Start of finish your holiday shopping at the quaint stores and shops or find a unique gift from a crafter at the boutique.

Walk A Hound, Lose A Pound

There has never been a better time to commit or recommit to helping your family, friends, and pups lead active and healthier lives! During the months of January and February, Upland Recreation and Community Services is encouraging you to "Walk A Hound, Lose A Pound", with the hopes that we can help you reach some of your fitness goals in the New Year and remember that fitness can be fun! No matter your age or fitness level, let's get moving! Your body will thank you and your pup will be excited to spend additional time with you! The "Walk A Hound, Lose A Pound", group will meet each Saturday morning at the Magnolia Recreation Center located at 651 W. 15th Street, Upland. We'll head out on 15th Street an stride up the Euclid Median, gradually increasing distance each week. Join for free and bring a friend or family member, along with your pup! Each 1/2 mile walked with us will earn an entry for a chance to win prizes! Let's grab that leash and get walking! *Pups are not required, but encouraged to attend.

"Kids In The Kitchen" offers hands-on recipes, basic food preparation skills, measuring and safety lessons in the kitchen, along with the opportunity to learn easy, fun, and tasty treats that can be made at home. No need to pack a dinner for tonight - throughout the course of the evening, the little chefs will enjoy their own tasty hand-made treats, along with fun games & activities, an evening movie, and possible craft projects, should time permit. Yes, adulst are included, too! Each craft kit created exclusively for Upland Recreation and Community Services participants contains a Valentine's Day themed wood cut-out, paint, and paint brush. All that's needed is your creativity and perhaps some glue and Sharpie marker to provide a personal touch from the comfort of your own home!
